Logi Tómasson, the Icelandic left-back signed by Samsunspor during the 2025 summer transfer window, stands out as a versatile defender suited to the demands of modern football. Born on September 13, 2000, in Reykjavík, Tómasson began his football journey in the youth academy of Víkingur, where he developed and eventually made it to the first team. Early in his career, he played on loan for Þróttur and FH, making over 80 appearances in the Icelandic League.

In 2023, Tómasson transferred to Norway’s Strømsgodset, where his performances caught the attention of European clubs. Particularly noted for his attacking contributions in the Norwegian League, he finished the 2024 season with 7 goals. His dribbling, key passes, and involvement in the penalty area from the left-back position made him one of the most talked-about players in the league. These statistics proved that he plays an active role not only defensively but also in attack.

Tómasson, who joined Samsunspor on a 4+1 year contract, is seen as a significant investment for both the club and its supporters. Having played 10 matches for the Iceland senior national team, he brings international experience and leadership qualities to the squad. Although his main position is left-back, he can also play as a center-back or left winger, making him a tactically flexible player.

Outside of football, Logi Tómasson is known for his vibrant personality and interest in music, even having released an album under the name “Luigi” in the past. Quickly adapting to life in Turkey, the young player looks set to make his mark both on and off the pitch in a Samsunspor shirt.
