Yunus Emre Çift was born on September 1, 2003, in the Çarşamba district of Samsun. He began his football journey at Dikbıyık Belediyespor, continued at Yeşilırmakspor, and after 2017, joined the youth academy of Samsunspor. In 2021, he was promoted to the first team as a professional and made his debut in the Turkish Cup against 1922 Konyaspor. Playing as a center-back, he stands out especially for his effectiveness in aerial duels, thanks to his height of 1.85 m.

Wearing the Samsunspor jersey, he played in 21 league and 2 cup matches during the 2021–22 season; in the 2022–23 season, he played 26 league matches and scored 1 goal, playing an important role in his team’s championship. He then had the opportunity to play in the Süper Lig, where he stood out with his consistent performances in defense. He is among the longest-serving professionals to come through the club’s academy and earned the title of the defender with the most ball recoveries in the opening weeks of the Süper Lig. He has also represented Turkey at the U-19 and U-21 national team levels.

His career goals include keeping Samsunspor in the Süper Lig consistently and playing football at the highest level in Europe, especially in the Premier League. The young player, who takes inspiration from center-backs like Van Dijk, emphasizes that gaining experience in a back three at an early age has given him a significant advantage.
